Long story short: I’m a creative director & UI/visual designer living in Northern Virginia. I have led and managed design teams at Fortune 500 companies and I live for beautiful typography and clean, semantic markup. Some call me a unicorn, but what I truly aspire to be is a Pegasus, elevating experiences to soaring heights.

Short story long: As a nerdy teenager growing up in the ‘90s, I was introduced to the wonder of the Internet and stayed up late nights studying the code behind various websites and eventually designed and built my first personal webpage (Geocities, anyone?) with self-taught HTML – without the aid of a WYSIWYG editor, it took me days to construct a simple page, but I believe that this approach nurtured a solid foundation of knowledge of how to design and build a website. Nearly two decades later, my design work has grown more detailed and refined, my markup cleaner and accessible. Gone are the days when I built with tables and frames; I now work with HTML5, CSS3, and responsive layouts. Design is where my passion lies, but I enjoy the balance of possessing a trained creative eye and the technical chops to match. As a design manager, I strive to connect my team members' talents to work that best leverages their strengths to ensure their success as well as the team's. As a designer, I love taking ownership of the end-to-end process from concept to launch, making a design vision come to life as a beautiful and functional user experience.
